They typically last up to a year on the shelf. The rice or noodles dont need to be refrigerated, but DO NOT freeze them because that will render them inedible. But for the rest of you, I strongly urge you to set your reservations about shirataki noodles and everything they imply aside long enough to try a bowl. Serving size: ~1 cup, or 1/4 entire recipe. The scent does not mean there is anything wrong with the products. Shirataki noodles can be thrown into cold noodle salads or cooked in hot broth.
